Little update...

Just saying...
No, I am not pregnant.
Yes, I am aware that I'm getting a little chunky.
As it turns out, I'm having some not great luck in the baby making department. Pretty sure it's a hormone thing since I've struggled with it for years.
Thanks to a really great friend, I've finally mustered up the nerve for a doctor's appointment. Not fertility stuff. Just to fix what's broken for now and see what happens.
And aside from the annoying weight gain, I'm ok with all this. Not that I wouldn't love a new little one. It's just my life is pretty full right now. I love my time with Celia. I missed so much of her life while I was a working mom. Now that I'm home, I'm a little selfish. I just love being with her.
Besides, I'm so used to being a mom to a preschooler. A very independent preschooler. She starts Kindergarten this fall. We're way past diapers and midnight feeding. We're on to reading and learning to ride a two wheeler. A baby would be very, very different.
Today, I'm ok not having one.
What I'd really like??
To stop being asked if I'm pregnant.
If and when it happens, I'll let everyone know. And I really don't need to be told how fat I am one more time.

A Tiny Little Lie...
Celia is beyond excited.
I did tell her a little lie though.
We've been battling a bit of a bad attitude in the munchkin for the last week or so. So I told her Disneyland was the happiest place on earth.
You know.
So I lied.

Vampy??
I'm pretty sure she meant fangs.
Her bangs are darling.
The only problem?
My baby is not a baby anymore.
(Master Shifu. See the resemblance??)

Report Card
Our house full of sickness- we're getting there. Cel's up and going. Me and Dan are a little behind. Stuffy and coughy. Breathing is so overrated.
The mess that I affectionately call my house- also, getting there. I tackled laundry yesterday. Today, the living room will livable.
My grandparents- Things are good. Thank you for all the prayers and concern. Grandpa is home and on the mend. Albeit a little slower than I'm sure he'd prefer. Grandma is in a wonderful nursing home in a Alzheimer's unit. Mom says it's perfect. We'd love to have her home, but that can't happen. So, now she's in a safe, secure and happy place. As soon as I can stop coughing, Cel and I definitely going out and about for some much needed visits.
And finally. My New Years Resolutions...
1) Read the Book of Mormon again. And this time, really study it.
2) Go to the temple at least twice a month with my hubby.
3) Learn to do my family history.
4) Do the temple work for Dan's grandparents.
5) Expand our food storage.
6) Teach Celia to read before she starts Kindergarten.
7) Get off my lazy rump and exercise more.
Happy Wednesday all!

Making Money
It surprised both Dan and I when she burst from her room triumphantly a few minutes latter and announced,
Later we asked her if she really had been faking the whole time.
Still, it was very funny.
Where does she get her ideas??
Dan and I are very happy to have our sweet Celia home again.

Do You Believe in Santa Claus?
I believed in Santa until one Christmas morning we were opening our gifts and my sister Tawny got my Donnie, New Kids on the Block doll.
Fast forward a few years.

Check out the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional here.

One month, One day
I have a confession to make... I'm a little scared.
I've never been able to go on a field trip with Celia.
I've missed a lot.
Celia starts Kindergarten the next fall.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
This morning I accidentally left the bathroom faucet on a tiny bit while Celia was brushing her teeth.
She exclaimed, "Mom! You left the sink on. The earth in broken. We need to give the world a hug! You're wasting water!"

Liar, liar. Pants on fire!
New discovery for Miss Celia. Fibbing.
Her little tales are quite convincing. Even if the physical evidence doesn't quite support her claim. It's only at about the second or third time I ask, "Is that the truth or a lie", does she actually crack and confess.
It started a few months back with just harebrained stories. It was cute and funny. Now, it's turned into ways to get around not minding or to get out of trouble.
Yesterday, she lied that the cookie I had said needed to wait until after dinner just happened to fall off the countertop and into her hands. She rationalized that she was just doing me a favor since she caught it before it messed up the floor. And since she had helped me out, she might as well just eat it.
Nice try. Points for creativity. But a lie is still a lie.
I'm afraid these little amusing white lies will turn into a big fibbing problem. Maybe we need to have a little mommy and Celia time tonight and reread Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big.
Any helpful advice from my expert mom friends??

Would Somebody Please Get That Girl A Spotlight Already??
Dan and I took the little starlet to her Dad's church for their Primary program. We had missed our ward's because of our Honeymoon, so we were pretty excited to see her.
She was last in her little class to speak and while they were lined up she was pretty much dancing with anticipation. The look on her face clearly said, "Sheesh. Can these other little kids hurry up and say their thing?!"
Apparently, this little star performance had been predicated by her breakout role in our ward's primary program a few weeks ago. She was the only one of her class not to be out sick, so she had a whole row to herself.
Oh, that kid makes me laugh!

Best Buddies
I just warms my heart that he spends so much time with her. It's not just during baseball games either. He takes her every Thursday night while I'm at my meeting and that's their special time. They usually end up getting ice cream or some other fun treat.
We are so blessed to have our Daniel!

Celia-isms
While playing with her rocking horse that's been too small for two years now,
"Mommy? What are you watching?"
"Mom? You're married now right?"
When it comes to eating dinner she always wants to make deals about how many bites to finish. I usually say something like, "You choose. 4 or 5 more bites." I'm ok with both choices, but it makes her feel in charge. Her response has been,

Could I Get About 10 More Hours In the Day Please??
Our new little townhouse is still a maze of boxes. I'm pretty much living out of my suitcase since I can't quite find any of my cold weather clothes. Oh well.
I have my kitchen and bathroom unpacked and useable. Yay me! This weekend's task... find the other three rooms. That, and finish decorating for Halloween. It's all about priorities. I mean, we only have our door and windows decorated. It's October 9th people and I haven't put up my Halloween trees! I know what you're thinking. Cut me some slack alright? I've had a few things on my plate lately.
Here are a few fun highlights from the week...
Baby Chace is finally here!
Court again yesterday.
I supervised my first Enrichment Night last night.
Celia is sleeping quite contentedly in her own bed!
And last but not least... married life in WONDERFUL!!!
p.s. I'm posting pictures and our little travel log soon. Promise!

Blessed Day
Last night I also received the permission letter from Celia's father to allow her to be sealed to Dan and I. Until the letter was physically in my hands I was still nervous that it wouldn't happen.
