It's All About The Simple Things

Right?

Like today.

I'm off work early.
So I get a whole afternoon with my Celia before she's gone for the weekend.
I'm celebrating!

I'm super grateful for a lenient boss. He's been more than great with my schedule always. He's letting me cut back my hours in preparation for me leaving for good. Dan and I are working very hard to get our finances in order so that I can stay home hopefully by the first of the year. So, if you could send a few prayers our way that would be most appreciated!!

Another small thing?

Fall.
Love it! Love it! Love it!
The smell, the crisp chill in the air.
Pumpkins!
And the leaves. Oh the leaves!

Oh, and did you see the sky this morning?

A purple and pink sunrise, just for Celia.

"Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning."

So does this mean a storm? One can only hope.

Best wishes for a great weekend all!

My task?

Kiss the moving boxes goodbye for good!

Will report on Monday.

My Sweet Celia

Weekends are "Mom and Celia" days. Celia's gotten to where she just knows when it's Saturday. This past Saturday, I had to leave her with my mom while I went to that waste of time Divorce Education Class. She was way bummed out and ended up being not so great for my mom. But, when I got home she was super excited to see me. I swear she gives the best welcomes! And from that moment on we were inseparable. We cleaned the whole basement. Her little pigpen of a room included. She loves to 'pick up' her puzzles. Which turns out to be more of her dumping them out just so she can pick them up. But, I love that she does them so well. So I didn't mind so much. And she helped me vacuum the stairs. Because according to her there's just no way I can do that 'all by myself'. Then we organized mom's black hole of a cupboard. Scary stuff. There was food in there from 1999! Yikes!
Sunday, I got to be mom and grandma. Mom did an impromptu trip to Cedar City and left me in charge of dinner and primary stuff. So Celia and I spent the morning cooking and baking. She was my 'best helper' making an apple pie and was all over picking the pomegranate apart. She just makes me laugh. I'm a pretty messy cook. That's always been the joke. But, add Celia to the mix and holy cow! Mess contained though. And the food turned out great if I do say so.
While I was preparing singing time stuff, Celia broke into the markers again. So for church she had blue scribble on her hands and legs. I get a lot of flack for letting her color all over herself. Hey, it's stopped her from coloring on the walls. Thank goodness! And it's pretty funny. Besides her little skull tattoo she's had on her arm since before Halloween has finally washed off. She just needed a little color... or a lot. So black tights for church!
You know. I just love being home with her. I love her little smile and her laugh. I love that she sings when she's happy and that she always seems to be dancing. I love her creativity that just doesn't seem to ever want to be contained. And I love that she's mine. We've been through a lot together. She is my joy and my strength. Despite everything, I think, "Wow. How could I have been so blessed?!"
